Hatel is a cost estimating and risk specialist with 20 years of successful pre-construction work winning, estimating, procurement, claims and bid management experience. Specialising in the power and utilities sector, Hatel has managed successful bid submission on onshore and offshore capital projects up to €1bn. In addition Hatel has practical site experience in cable installation gangs and working with substation fitters.

Hatel has developed and won a number of construction bids through the OJEU procurement process on the contractor side and has also experience of compiling tender documentation for the client side. Key project wins include Stalybridge Thorpe Marsh 400kV UK and Shetland HVDC Link.

Other specialisms include managing the development of the overall project CAPEX and OPEX used for financial modelling and strategy reviews ensuring compliance with the technical and commercial requirements of your tender submission development. These services have been provided to National Grid, Babcock, Brush Turbo Generators, Galliford Try on projects in Europe, UAE, Asia Pacific and USA and is familiar with the challenges of working cross country and cross time zone. He is knowledgeable in running risk and opportunity workshops, compiling risk registers and preparing them for a bid submission.

Hatel’s practice experience of installing cable and substation equipment is supported with his Masters Engineering Degree from Loughborough University and Engineering Degree from Brighton University. Hatel speaks Gujarati and English.
